Welcome to a new and improved version of the Podcast Nuggets Newsletter! Feedback from our readership suggested that the Editions were a bit text-heavy, so we’ve shortened up the verbiage and provided links to more detailed content. We also are providing access to blogs, videos, and podcasts. Enjoy!
Top 5 Things You Can Do to Promote Your Podcast
Building an audience starts well before you turn on your microphone for the first time, and continues with promotional work throughout the life of your podcast. Here are 5 ideas to get more listeners:
- Podcast Webpage: Set up a dedicated page. Add a Comments section, and ask listeners to provide feedback and ideas.
- Podcast SEO: Add metadata, keywords, and tags with your webpage AND your podcast hosting platform (Libsyn, Anchor, etc.)
- Listener Promotion: While recording the Episode, ask your listeners to subscribe to your podcast and recommend it to friends and colleagues. Don’t forget to be specific about how to subscribe.
- Audiograms/Video Shorts: Create short video clips excerpted from the Episode and post to your social media accounts. Audiograms superimpose podcast audio over your artwork and include subtitling.
- E-mail Campaign: Create an e-mail campaign with a link to your Episode.

Add an RSS Feed for Easy Podcast Subscribing
Josh Blood, Creative Director at ModPod, presents his reasons for why you should include an RSS link as a subscription option on your podcast website. In driving traffic to your podcast website, you want people to quickly come in and subscribe to your show so that they never miss an episode. By including an RSS link, power users can copy that URL and paste it into any app that they listen to podcasts in.
